The hamlet of Blayshaw is located within Studfold Farm and it is known that there are the remains of monastic iron smelting there (see the Iron-Age (Nidderdale) website) but in addition a quern stone has been found. Also there is evidence of prehistoric settlement, a Romano-British farmstead/village, a Bronze Age enclosure with round houses, previously never recorded and another potential Bronze Age Enclosure. All are worthy of further investigation.
